**Guide to obtaining short-term stay Visas for Japan

***For nationals of countries and areas with visa exemption arrangements with Japan
List of Countries and Regions That Have Visa Exemption Arrangements with Japan (61 countries and regions as of May 2011):~

Nationals of these countries and regions are not required to obtain a visa to enter Japan when the purpose of their visit is commerce, a conference, tourism, visit to relatives/acquaintances, etc.

***For Chinese nationals who wish to come to Japan for a short-term stay

Visit the link for registration "[[Click here to Register:http://www.cvent.com/d/3cq5py]]" on [[the COMPSAC Web page:http://compsac.cs.iastate.edu]].
Complete registration with checking "YES" at the "Do your require a visa letter?" checkbox.
You will receive a visa letter from the COMPSAC2013 Organizing Committee by email in one or two working days, but actually additional documents are required. Please read carefully the [[guide by MOFA:http://www.cn.emb-japan.go.jp/consular/visa_tankishoyo.htm]], fill the templates,

and send them to <compsac2013-visa@net.ist.i.kyoto-u.ac.jp>,
with the following information
-Postal mail address (at which you receive the documents) and phone number
-Porpose of attending COMPSAC2013, either
--Committee member (main track, workshop, etc.)
--Session chair
--Author (paper ID)
--Supervisor of a student who presents his work (student's name and paper ID)
--Other
-Accompanying persons
You will get the signed documents of them possibly within a week.

***For citizens of other countries
